"Release"- painted live on NYE at The Solar Punk Summitt. This is a portrait of my client Leanne Payne, as an embodiment of 2 Goddesses. Tlazolteotl, the Mayan Goddess of sexuality, vice, purification, lust and filth/dirt and Freya, the Norse Goddess of love, beauty, fertility, sex, war and gold. Symbolic elements include jaguar markings, associated with Tlazolteotl, the Toh bird which resides in dark caves and cenotes(the bird that leads you to water) and other elements(flamingo crown, tropical leaves, snakes…)that represent the Yucatan, where the painting will reside. The painting symbolizes the transmuting of dark to light, filth to purity, attachment to release…shedding skin and sexuality as an expression of the creative impulse and lust for life.❤️🌴🌊🏄‍♀️
